IIS - Published Pictures do not show within LAN but are Ok to Outside

I have published some pictures to an IIS Server inside my LAN which is
referenced by a web site (on a remote server) outside of my LAN.
When I view the web site from a PC outside of my LAN all the pictures appear
fine, however, if I view the web page (on the remote server) from within my
LAN, the pictures do not appear and the little red cross appears.
Any ideas?

It may be because your NAT device doesn't translate the external IP
addresses (derived from the web page) of the pictures to the internal IP
address of your web server.
You need something called NAT loopback.

Thanks Andrew. I have set up the firewall to redirect port 80 and port 443
traffic to the server inside the LAN - this is obviously not sufficient to
get the pictures to show. What do I need to set for a NAT loopback? Can you
give me a bit more detail so I can pass it onto the IT guys who manage the
network?

(Sorry for late reply.)
I have no idea of the implementation details - it'll be in your router's
instruction manual if the router is capable of doing it. Your IT guys should
be able to find out given the magic words NAT, loopback, and please.

Installing IIS IIS I copied index.html file to the following server and URL: http: / / 74.208.153 same services are running on both servers. LogFileDirectory and log file write error handling IIS I am contemplating changing our IIS standard config to use Centralw3CLoggingEnabled and LogFileDirectory (ie. Write a single IIS log file to a remote UNC) to overcome IIS filling up C: drive and crashing Windows, but I have a concern about how to trap possible writing errors to this remote UNC? Knowing IIS doesn’t populate the Eventlog with any IIS log file writing errors, how can I resolve my problem? Custom 404 page in mixed ASP / aspx environment IIS It seems to me that IIS is over thinking things. I've inherited a several servers of various ages (IIS 5 / 6 / 7), with up to 30 web sites per server. Each site has a in classic ASP. The sites are mixed asp / aspx content right now. I noticed that IIS ignores the custom handler if the requested page is .aspx. This results in requests that master pages for all of our sites, since each has a different layout. Why does IIS behave this way? Is there some way for me to get IIS to respect the custom 404 setting as it is currently set, or am I stuck cost of $500 per message.
