Im doing some testing of Exchange 2007 on a new server, im trying to get OWA
to work but im having a bunch of trouble with IIS.

Im getting these errors logged in event viewer:
Access is Denied"

because of the following error:
Access is denied. "

service which failed to start because of the following error:
The dependency service or group failed to start. "

When i look in the IIS console the default web site is stopped as is all the
Application pool services.

When i try to start the DefaultAppPool service i get:

The server is an x64 windows 2003 R2 SP2 and is fully up to date...

The services are set to start using the Network Service Account but i have
tried with every other account even the administrator and local system
accounts and i get the same errors...

can anyone help?

I have no idea what you mean by "the services are set to start using
the Network Service account", but you cannot change the service
accounts for any of the services you mentioned. If you change them and
things break even when you change them back, I would recommend you
reinstall the OS.

Can you explain why you are changing the service accounts (which
ones?) to Network Service?

is ok... a simple reboot fixed the problem

However what i meant was if you open up IIS right click on DefaultAppPool,
properties, the identy. That is where i was changing the account. Its
actually not the account that starts the service but its the application pool
identity

Impersonation and File Permission problems IIS Hello, I have a problem with file permissions in an ASP.NET app. My app runs correctly on my test server (Windows 2003 SP2 Standard Edition), but don't work at all in my production server (Windows 2003 SP2 Enterprise Edition, joined to an Active Directory domain). The problem seems to be that IIS is not impersonating the user when it's accessing the aspx file before handing it by a run of sysinternals procmon) . I have the web server configured to use Integrated Windows Security as the only authentication method (anonymous access is disabled), in the same way I Is there any difference in the way impersonation or file access security is handled in IIS 6 running on an Enterprise or on a Domain joined server? Over 66 seconds to fetch a simple css file on IIS 6 - follow up IIS Hi there, This is a follow up on a question I posted earlier. I got SQL server profiler doesn't show any delays. Here are more details: - I checked the IIS log files to make sure it's not a network issue. It's not. IIS logs report the extremely long times it's taking to respond. - While waiting for a access to the file system. - There are no errors in the event log or the iis httperror files. - The problem happens randomly, and it affects all kinds of files, weather static (.txt, .css, .png) or dynamic (.aspx, asmx). - I'm using IIS6 on Windows Server 2003. It's a virtual host (vps). I'm using .net 2.0. This drill deeper?
