Hi to everyone!
This is my first post in this group. My problem is with a server 2003 R2.
Three weeks ago it was working well. I mean, I can use the internet and keep
the respective updates. I had to intall IIS 6.0 because we have some net
applications that use in the intranet. From then I can not use the internet
in this server. I did not receive any error. It only says that can not find
the web site. I have not a clue about what is happening.
Can anyone help me?

IIS is a web server. It does not affect whether you can use the the
Internet or not.

Perhaps you installed other applications on the server which changed
network settings to prevent outward browsing. You will need to first
configure your browser to tell you the real error response instead of
Errors" in its options/Advanced tab.

Thank you for your answer David. Unfortunately it seems that I need more
help. I followed your suggestion and configured my browser as you indicated,
but I still did not receive any error. Just the messagge: "Internet explorer
can not show the web page ... "

It seems like the server would not be connected to the internet, but I
checked it again and I think it is ok! The server does not have an
alternative DNS and is not using a Gateway. It is connected to the switch
and from there to the router.

About other applications installed before, I updated the SP1 for windows

I hope you (or someone else) can give me another clue!

Again thank you for your time!

Is this server even connected to the Internet. Can you see this server
from another machine or from the Internet.

Also, the fact that the Internet can see the server does NOT mean the
server can browse out to the Internet. Intervening networking devices
can allow/deny traffic in either direction.

I don't think your issue has to do with IIS nor SP1 nor the server
because they do not affect ability to browse the Internet -- you
probably have some networking misconfiguration or security lockdown.
You will want to find support for your network's routing
configuration.

Impersonation and File Permission problems IIS Hello, I have a problem with file permissions in an ASP.NET app. My app runs correctly on my test server (Windows 2003 SP2 Standard Edition), but don't work at all in my production server (Windows 2003 SP2 Enterprise Edition, joined to an Active Directory domain). The problem seems to be that IIS is not impersonating the user when it's accessing the aspx file before handing it by a run of sysinternals procmon) . I have the web server configured to use Integrated Windows Security as the only authentication method (anonymous access is disabled), in the same way I Is there any difference in the way impersonation or file access security is handled in IIS 6 running on an Enterprise or on a Domain joined server? I've read somewhere is that true? Thanks, Pablo - - Cheerleaders do it enthusiastically.
